TR Industries is the main distributor for WEG’s electric motors, generators, transformers, drives and coatings in New Zealand. With a head office in Matamata and branches in both Auckland and Christchurch, it employs over 18 people locally, complemented by full support and back up from WEG in Brazil.
The Challenge
TR Industries, a spin-off company from Metso Minerals, needed a flexible, cost-effective ERP/CRM solution – fast. Metso Minerals had been using an ERP solution, Scala so when TR Industries was formed the new company had the option of buying a new license for Scala or porting its operations to a new platform. Although Scala worked well for Metso, a more flexibile solution was needed for TR Industries, one that could give better visibility across the entire business.
The Solution
Microsoft Dynamics Ax were implemented within just two months. Key to the project’s success was Solution Partners’ rapid implementation methodology. A set of templates were developed so that they could quickly adapt to TR Industries’ particular requirements. This gave them a head-start during prototyping and meant that they could get immediate feedback to help them refine the model.
The team from Solution Partners understood the operation and requirements, and was able to set up the various databases, interfaces and reports to reflect the company’s needs. Best of all, Solution Partners were able to do it in the tight time frame required.
